Omixon rocked the EFI meeting again, though we almost couldn’t make it to Venice in time, due to airport strikes and flight cancellations. Getting to Venice is never easy, but at least we had the opportunity to enjoy the city’s magnificent atmosphere by water taxis and speedboats – something you can’t experience everyday!
After a hectic and adventurous arrival, Day 0 of the conference started pretty well: after installing our brand new booth, we kicked off the day at 9am with our second Distributor Workshop, where we awarded our Italian distributor, Davide Porrini from AstraFormedic for “Excellence in Customer Service” and our distributor from Spain, ZMWay’s Miguel Ze’ for “Biggest Contract Win”. Thank you to all our distributors for participating and for supporting us and our customers!
We also ran our very first interactive User Group Meeting, right after the Distributor Workshop and a one-hour networking session.
The User Group Meeting was a forum to provide all attendees with the most recent Holotype HLA v2.2 product updates, and also to hear and discuss several Holotype HLA users’ experiences, learn from challenges and celebrate the successes. The event consisted of three parts: Holotype HLA Assay session, HLA Twin Software session, and the Automation session. Our Guest Speakers, Mette Christiansen (Aarhus University Hospital), Sonja Verheyden (UZ Brussel), Vera Siffnerova (UHKT), Jürgen Zingsem (University Hospital Erlangen) and Beatrice Bardy (EFS Grenoble) shared their experiences on Holotype HLA.
On Day 1 we had our Lunchtime Symposium, titled “Holotyping without Borders”. More than 90 professionals attended our presentation, which focused on the experiences of existing Holotype HLA users in- and outside the European Union. Again, thank you to the Guest Speakers, Vera Siffnerova (UHKT), Dr. Elena Shagimardanova (Kazan Federal University) and Derrick Nelson (South African National Blood Service) for sharing their experience with the new Holotype HLA v2 protocol.
The “Omixon Party” is something that quickly became a “tradition”, this time at Hotel Grande Albergo Ausonia & Hungaria on Lido Island. The theme this year was “Masquerade Ball” and we gifted our invited guests – more than 100 – with Venetian masks, just to make the party even more appropriate and fun! Renting a photo booth was one of our best ideas. The results are more than a 100 funny pictures capturing hilarious moments with our customers and distributors. Thank you all for making this event so memorable!
Day 2 was busy with live HLA Twin software demos at our booth and we closed this very successful EFI conference at Hotel Excelsior, where the Omixon Team had great fun at the Gala Dinner.
Thanks all for meeting us and joining our events – see you next year in Lisbon, Portugal!
